+ Thesis Statement It should clearly state the purpose or main idea of the essay. It should be written as the last sentence of the first paragraph and be written again in the first sentence of the last paragraph. It should contain the following criteria: Be clear and precise Fulfill the requirements of the test prompt (Answer the question) Be based upon the texts provided.
