What is the Genetic Disorder? Illustration Name Date Class Period GENETIC DISORDER PROJECT

What Is It? Include: Statistics Which Chromosome is affected? Who it affects? Sex-linked or other; dominant or recessive Cause?

Symptoms Include: A picture What physical characteristics are present? How is it detected? At what age can it be determined?

Treatments Include: What is the main form of treatment? What other treatments are available? How much and how accessible is the treatment? If it can’t be cured, how can patients cope with it? Is there current research taking place for the treatment?

What if you or your children had it? Include: Is this something you would want to have tested before having a baby? Would you undergo treatment? Is there a support group available? Can people make donations to a non-profit group to assist those with the condition?

GRADING RUBRIC Each slide is worth 20 points.
