Introducing UKPASS A central point for applicants to register and apply for postgraduate programmes A flexible and configurable on-line application service A means of making decisions and receiving replies A source of institution and national level management information A means of checking potentially fraudulent applications (through the UCAS Verification Unit) The online application service for all postgraduate providers in the UK. The UK Postgraduate Application and Statistical Service

UK Postgraduate Application and Statistical Service Key characteristics Completely online A rolling application service allowing multiple start dates Use alongside existing application routes Use for all or some PG programmes (Taught/Research /FT /PT) Course data supplied by Graduate Prospects Available in Welsh Composed of core and institution specific data ‘White labelled’ – add your logo and institution/course questions Applications can be made through 3 different routes... UKPASS Website Graduate Prospects Institution’s own Website

Tailor your own Institution and Course Questions Tailored Questions Institutions will have the option to gather institution and course specific data, by adding specific questions. An example: “If you are applying to other HEIs outside of the UK, which countries are you applying to.”

Communication (both ways) is immediate Applicants can see details of offers and can reply immediately.

Where to target your marketing? Gather your own application data and compare this to your competitors Opportunities exist for HEIs to track application figures week by week enabling an institution to identify immediate trends and compare these to all other HEIs. The service ‘App Track’ used for UCAS could also be developed for postgraduate analysis.

UKPASS Funding Model HEI charged at £15 per application but capped on the basis of postgraduate provision (HESA First Year Stats) Band PG places£ 5,000 p.a PG places £ 7,500 p.a PG places £10,000 p.a. 4.1,000 – 1,499 PG places£15,000 p.a. 5.1,500 – 1,999 PG places£22,500 p.a. 6.2,000 – 2,499 PG places£30,000 p.a – 2999 PG places£37,500 p.a. Institution figures – excludes PG SWAS, NMAS and GTTR intake. All above subject to VAT. Banding will be adjusted if you put a proportion of your programmes through the service. Contact the UKPASS team for further information.
