Koala The word koala means "no drink“. It is so, because koalas hardly ever go down to the ground for water. Their main food is the eucalypt leaves.. Eucalyptus leaves contain 50% water and 5% sugars and starches. This is a low energy diet therefore they conserve their energy by sleeping about 19 hours a day, which makes them appear intoxicated. Koalas are fussy eaters. They eat 50 species of the 600 species of eucalyptus trees in Australia. The belief that the koala is drunk on these leaves is actually a myth. Number of young: 1. Kangaroos. Dingo. The Dingo evolved from the wolf 6,000 years ago and was introduced into Australia by Asian seafarers 3,500 to 4,000 years ago. Three to four pups are usually born in winter. The dingo breeds only once a year. Pure dingoes are becoming rare in some areas due to interbreeding with domestic dogs. They have powerful legs that act like springs, big feet to help them run and a long tail to help them balance. The larger kangaroo species can jump up to 3m high and 9m long. They can run as fast as 70 km/h.

Eat of Australian people. Traditional Australian eat is the England eat. They like to eat meat of : pig, rabbit, lamb, kangaroos, crocodile. Australian people like to eat fish : oysters, crabs and others sea's products. They eat them with sauce and rice. The national food is barracuda and trout. They eat a lot of vegetables. Australian people eat a lot of fruits and barriers : blackberry, mango and citrus plants. Australia is famous for its beautiful wines. There are many vineyards in the south- west of Australia. In Australia many sunny days, so here produce very good white wines.
