Peace and Love on Earth By Nicole Hershkopf History 311 Dr. Kevin Sheets

The focus of this project is peace and love on earth during the Vietnam War era. There were many feelings in America of anti-war sentiments because many people were opposed to what was going on in Vietnam. There was also a push for equality of all races since this era was also when the Civil Rights movement was taking place. Both of these subject matters were concerns for Americans who hoped to eventually live in a peaceful world. Through the use of song lyrics many artists around this time expressed their feelings and hopes for peace and love on earth.

Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one
