Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning OUR PROFILE Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning is an adept of the European initiative eLearning – “designing tomorrow education”, provides and implements informal education and training through online courses and training for all the people that haven’t had the opportunity to benefit from the advantages of IT and Internet, as well as for all the people who want to evolve and improve their career.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning The services we provide: Online courses and trainings in different fields for different social groups (educators and social workers, young disadvantaged people, teachers who want to develop their skills and techniques for online teaching, staff in the SMEs, etc.); Researches and pertinent information on learning opportunities in the country and in Europe; Counseling in the IT and e-learning field; Modern learning methods and techniques; Significant improvement of learning methods by implementation of innovative teaching/learning techniques.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning OUR TARGET GROUP Our target group consists of people of any age and professional category. Our organisation works with: people from different social categories who are facing the danger of being socially excluded; institutionalized children who haven’t had access to technology and Internet; people with physical and mental disabilities; citizens who have failed their first chance because of different reasons and want a second one, as well as any citizen who wants to be prepared for the new society by means of lifelong learning.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning SILVER Start date: 1st October 2008 End date: 30th September 2010 Coordinator: Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Italy Project aims: To create a sustainable digital literacy life-long learning programme to provide: 1)elderly citizens with personal competences and resources necessary to benefit from ICT and the Knowledge Society; 2)school teachers and students with didactic experiences fostering the learning of skills and abilities considered critical for the 21st century (communication skills, social responsibility, inter-generational understanding, teamwork, etc.); 3)local-government policy makers with a practical process and tools to tackle the e-inclusion of elders through a multi-stakeholder approach including schools, elderly people centres and other organizations working with the elderly. Project results: - curricula of ICT training programme for elders articulated into 3 levels: 1st: basic ICT use, 2nd: social networking, 3rd: e-government services; - 3 multilingual (EN/RO/ES) ICT didactical kits - 4 pilot training programmes, one for each partner involved - project website;

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning EdUcAtED Start date: 1st November 2008 End date: 30th October 2010 Coordinator: Academia Istropolitana Nova,SK Project aim: to design and offer to target group (teachers, tutors, trainers and other people working in education) an on line course on EU topics which is easily accessible to all, modern, challenging, European, giving them opportunities to improve not only academic knowledge but also other skills, e.g. digital skills, language skills. Project results: - a need analysis conducted in 7 countries at sample of app 50 persons in each - a teaching material in an electronic form for teachers, tutors, trainers and other people working in education. The material will contain information on history milestones of the EU, on its functioning, trends and future of the EU. - E-learning platform of the project - the workshop to test the part of course at sample of target group - the website of the project - the international conference

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning DEVOTED Start date: 1st November 2009 End date: 30th October 2011 Coordinator: Stichting Arcus College, Netherlands Project aims: creating an European Centre of Excellence and thus aiming at collecting existing good practices in the following thematic fields: intercultural communication, gender and diversity, key, social and citizenship competencies, creative skills and ICT competencies. DEVOTED will create an easily accessible stock of standardized good practices for all professionals, working with disadvantaged target groups. The stock or inventory is used to raise awareness and upgrade the competencies of professionals to improve the teaching process. Project results: The project products (good practices, inventories and booklets) will be disseminated and exploited by: -an online, interactive platform (web site); -regional dissemination meetings in the six involved countries; -broad publications and information in the consortium and the partners' networks; -incorporation of the good practices into in the curricula and methodologies of partners and their networks; -the set up of three mobile teams of experts based on a train-the-trainer concept for training, guidance and advice.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning MUSICC Start date : 1 October 2008 End date : 30 September 2010 Coordinator: Royal National College for the Blind, UK Specific objectives: To create a range of teaching materials for use by teachers that will fully explain the current scientific position on climate change to people with sensory impairments To test and evaluate the pedagogical processes being developed in the project by holding 3 pilot studies in different partner countries. To make this material available to teachers in an adaptable format specifically Talking Tactiles for the visually impaired and subtitled / signed DVD materials for the hearing impaired To explore the transferability of the learning process to other groups with specific needs. The project results will be: Teaching materials that can enter the EU VET system and will support teachers, trainers, employers and learners in the foreseeable future; A managed website to ensure that information is always up-to-date; Transferred teaching material packages to other EU countries; A common based data set to deliver the teaching materials in a variety of alternative formats depending on the needs of the individual.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning COACH BOT Start date : 1 October 2008 End date : 30 September 2010 Coordinator : FOR.COM., Italia General objective: designing a new model of adult distance education, addressing professionals of home care health services, based on a elearning methodology that combines the conversational agent technology (chat- bot) with an ad hoc designed modular learning path. Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning SolTec Start date: 1st November 2009 End date: 30th October 2011 Aplicant: CGIL-Bildungswerk e.V., Germany Coordinator: bfw, Germany Project aims: SolTec promotes high performance, innovation and an European dimension in training systems and practices of the solar-energy sector, supports the realisation of a European area for LLL and helps to improve the quality, attractiveness and accessibility of the sector. The project encourages linguistic diversities through a common European Module (incl. a multinational glossary) and promotes the use of the results through the competent institutions of the four main partner countries. Project results: identification and development of a competence profile of the service and maintenance technicians for photovoltaic installations design of a sectoral qualification module which incorporates common European tools developed to promote transparency and recognition, subsuming the learning outcomes onto the EQF-system via national references of the four main partner countries Development of the curriculum, learning units (including proposal for allocation of credit points), pedagogical material and piloting the European module in order to evaluate the experiences and promote adaptations.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning KEY TO MOBILITY Start date: 1st November 2009 End date: 30th October 2011 Coordinator: Internationaler Bund Verbund Wuerttemberg, Germany Project aims: - providing disadvantaged young people with key international vocational competences crucial for their integration in further training and/or the labour market - developing a praxis module for the ‘gatekeepers’ to offer custom-fit support and prepare youth at risk for mobility during their training through the transfer and adaptation of innovative best practice from ESF - improving the framework conditions for mobility for youth at risk on the part of educational institutions and beyond -exploring the possibility of certifying this training module as an additional module for teachers. The key outcome of the project is the training module ‘Key to mobility’ consisting of the elements: 1) custom-fit support and training strategy (measures: profiling & assessment; job market contacts; qualification training in job market relevant key competences) 2) ‘Mobility trainer’ qualification 3) ‘Mobility training for youth at risk’

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning DYSLEXIA VETO Start date: 1st November 2009 End date: 30th October 2011 Coordinator: British Dyslexia Association, UK Project aims: 1. Improve the efficiency, effectiveness and responsiveness in a multicultural society of the BDA Quality Mark for Dyslexia Friendly best practice by testing the model in EU partner countries with a view to improving its impact and performance in a vocational context. 2. Make the BDA Dyslexia Friendly Quality Mark (DFQM) applicable for use in Europe to help equip dyslexia organisations to improve Dyslexia Friendly best practice in partner countries. 3. To produce a model of transfer / document / guidelines designed for sustainability and easy transfer to other countries, sectors and environments reflecting the overall aims of the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). Project results: - Within each country three vocational, educational and training establishments will be supported to become Dyslexia Friendly and achieve the Quality Mark award - The computer Profiler, developed through the Leonardo da Vinci "Include" Project, will be used to identify students with dyslexic difficulties. This provides printed recommendations including appropriate study skills techniques.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning FOR ALL Start date: 15th October 2009 End date: 14th October 2011 Coordinator: Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade, Portugal Project aims: Transfer and adapt an innovative e-learning methodology to disadvantage people, based on local partnerships and also on empowering learning process, more attractive and useful special to groups in risk (applying to learner's creativity) that facilitate the Equal Access to qualifications and soft skills for employment Create a common guideline for further application in each countries, including special remarks, information and key-factors for each national context (living document to Guide future VET users) Convince regional and national policy makers of the advantages of fado's methodology by involving them in the debates' project activities Project results: Fado's methodology: fado's training course in 5 languages (including short version of etutors b.learning course) + new guideline for further application in each country with practical tools during the whole training cycle. Fado's methodology received 2 European awards concerning inclusion and Equal Opportinities for All.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning TrAHVIIT Start date: 1st November 2009 End date: 30th October 2011 Coordinator: Royal National College for the Blind, UK Project aims: to transfer T3 technology to new European partners, including countries new to the EU; to produce audio-haptic overlays in new subject areas; to develop new educational networks and forums for the dissemination of T3 and its products; to make a special case for applying T3 to cognitive impaired learners. Project results: the lesson content materials produced by the partners for the target groups in their national language, used, tested and evaluated in pilot studies; training for the partners to produce talking tactile overlays; the website for dissemination of information; dissemination literature and events; the location of T3 units in selected centres of the partner countries; increased learning and vocational opportunities.

Romanian Society for Lifelong Learning PLUSVALOR – “Plurilinguism Strengthening Valorisation of Roots” Project duration : 24 months Start date: 1 December 2008 End date : 30 November 2010 General objectives: spread the aim of plurilingualism into primary and secondary schools deepen L1-L2 relationship, from the point of departure of language of origin (LO) develop innovative methodologies for valorisation of language of origin (i.e. 1st language valorisation) in migratory context, in constant reference to the CEFR; spread the use of CEFR to all the partner countries; develop a model of citizenship education for adults in migratory situations and in the new European contexts. Main achievements and results are: 4 booklets, courses and didactic materials, 2 dissemination events, project website, experiancial model of plurilingualism.
