A New Welfare Model This pictures are from a leaflet written by Swedish Senior Party in Malmö The leaflet discusses how to safeguard the welfare state when the industrial society changes to post-industrial

The Swedish welfare model means that large amounts are transferred, paid out to people in form of grants, sick payment, unemployment payment, pensions and so on. The yearly transfer amount is approximately 90 billion Euros. This is 10,000 Euros per inhabitant yearly. Hence, it would be possible to give every inhabitant in Sweden a basic income of 800 Euros monthly. A lower basic income to babies, children and young people would mean that more money could be given to the older ones. From a financial point of view basic income is feasible in Sweden!

Changes in the population structure will increase demands on society. In 2030, the number of Swedish inhabitants aged will be 2.9 million. This is 900,000 more people than in The number of people aged will be 4.9 million (+100,000) The number of children and young people, aged 0-19, will be 2.3 million (+100,000)

A new welfare model must be Functional Inexpensive and understandable Fair and acceptable Stable - no need for adjustments yearly
