UNM-NMSU Program Background  Piloted in 2007  Collaborative Agreement between UNM and NMSU Board of Regents  Stimulated Innovative Pathways:  To help fill need for pharmacists in rural communities in Southern New Mexico  To create an academic collaboration between two New Mexico Universities Linking UNM and NMSU

Goals of Program  Enhance accessibility of pharmacy education for the citizens of southern NM  Reduce pharmacist shortage in southern NM  Serve the pharmaceutical care needs of the underserved in the southern NM region  Increase diversity of the pharmacy profession in southern NM by increasing the number of pharmacists who are sensitive to the unique needs of a significant Hispanic population Linking UNM and NMSU
