Cuban Missile Crisis Due to the Bay of Pigs, the relationship between the U.S. and Cuba was terrible- showing (4)US as weak and disorganized Castro had a very good relationship with the USSR. During the summer of 1962, a (5)spy plane took pictures of nuclear missiles on Cuba. These missiles were put there by the USSR. President Kennedy ordered a (6)blockade of Cuba to stop the Soviets from bringing more nuclear missiles across the ocean.

Cuban Missile Crisis part 2 For about 13 days tensions were very high and nuclear war was near. An agreement was worked out between the U.S. and USSR: The U.S. was not to invade Cuba and remove nuclear missiles from Turkey. The (7)USSR agreed to remove all nuclear missiles from Cuba. This Cuban Missile Crisis was the closest our country has ever been to nuclear war.

(8)The Death/ Assasination of JFK On November , JFK was in Dallas Texas working on his re-election. He was riding in a convertible with his wife and the governor of Texas. (9)Lee Harvey Oswald supposedly shot JFK from the 6th floor of the Texas School Book Depository Building. A few days later, a Chicago night club owner named Jack Ruby shot Oswald.
