OSSLT – March 27 th, 2014 You must pass the Literacy Test in order to graduate The passing mark is 300 = 75% You have already had lessons on the main writing tasks (News Report and a Series of Paragraphs) You have also had lessons on Graphic Texts and Multiple Choice Questions Today we will be focussing on Reading Selections, Multiple Choice Questions and Short Answer Responses

Highlight 2-3 specific details from the selection before you start writing Restate the question in your response Do not be vague Use the highlighted info from the reading in your response Use all of the space provided Make sure to summarize –refer back to the question at the end(closing statement)

Share your response with the person next to you. Try to determine what code you would be assigned (10, 20, 30) Would anyone like to share their response with the class? If you did not score a code 30, try to rewrite your response now, so that it will fit the code 30 requirement. (4 minutes)
