Digital Ink Pad Product Overview

Using the Digital Ink Pad  The Digital Ink Pad is a stand-alone device with internal storage capability.  It digitally captures and stores everything you write or draw with ink on ordinary paper.  You can then easily view, edit, organize and your handwritten notes on your computer at any time.

Who are the potential users?  Artists Now Artists can draw/sketch anywhere and have their work saved digitally.  Business Executives Draft out quick digital memos during lunch meetings outside the office in a digital format.  Doctors Can write prescriptions both in ink and digitally keep a copy at the same time.  Lawyers The Digital Ink Pad can save all the scribbled details and facts in meetings with clients without using a laptop.

Who are the potential users?  Students Great for taking notes in class or during a lecture. It also easily converts notes to a PC format for editing later.  Tutors Tutors can use the Digital Ink Pad to give tests to kids and keep a copy without the need for a copier or scanner that might not be available to them.  Writers Excellent for recording ideas and inspirations on the go, write it down and it’s saved forever, anywhere.  Receptionists Filling forms directly on the Digital Ink Pad saves the receptionist having to retype all the information manually or having to scan the document.  The Digital Ink pad is great for all environments that use documentation in both ink form and digital form.

Digital Note Pad Mode Benefits  It’s Cost Saving, Time Saving and ‘Green’. It instantly save sketches and charts digitally without the need to scan. Users can take meeting notes and easily, saving time and energy. It helps reduce paper documents and the need to scan or photocopy. It allows form filling directly saved to file, no retyping necessary. You’ll never lose important information unlike with paper documentation. Automatic conversion of handwriting to text through the use of MyScript software is quick and easy.

Getting Started – The Digital Pen. 1.How to install the battery into the Digital Pen. Unscrew the rear tube from the front tube. Install the supplied ZA13 (hearing aid type ) battery into the battery compartment. Screw it onto the rear tube until tight. Push the top of the pen and start using it.

Getting Started – Note Pad Mode 2.Start using the Digital Ink Pad to take digital notes. Charge for at least 2 hours by plugging in the USB to a computer. Insert a note book. Press the power button. You are ready to use the digital pen to take notes.

Getting Started – Note Pad Mode 3.How to read the LCD indicators. a)Folder (A ~ Z). b)Page number (1 ~ 999). c) Current page contains contents. Current page is blank. d)Appears when writing with the digital ink pen. e)Icons displayed when hovering over the Ink Pad control buttons. f)Battery life indicator. Blank indicates no power. Getting Started – Note Pad Mode 5.How to record a voice memo.  Start a recording by tapping the button for more than 2 seconds. The current folder and file will be displayed on the bottom of the LCD panel.  To stop recording tap the button. To pause the recording tap the button The icon flashes while the recording is paused.  To Resume the recording, tap the button for more than 2 seconds.

Replacing the Digital Pen Tip.  Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the pad. Inside the compartment you can find two replacement cartridges.  Pull out the old Pen Tip. Insert the pen tip into the clip hole in the cartridge compartment. Tilt the pen to grip the pen tip, and then gently pull out the old cartridge. Or you can use the tweezers accessory to pull out the old cartridge. (included)

Getting Started – Tablet Mode 1.Using the Digital Pad with a PC. Place the Driver CD into the CD-ROM drive. Place the accessory Driver CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer, and the autorun screen will appear. 2.Complete driver installation. Start the installation wizard and follow the onscreen instructions to complete installation.

Getting Started – Tablet Mode 3.Connecting the digital ink pad to your PC Power on your PC. Connect the mini connector of the USB cable into the digital ink pad, and then connect the other end into the USB socket of the computer. Tablet active area is as shown to fit the 4:3 scale common display. The digital ink pad is detected by the computer when: 1. is displayed on the Digital Ink Pad 2. Bundled Software – MyInk Lite  It is a Conversion, organization and management software. Converts the.TOP files to several popular formats, BMP, HTML, JPEG or PDF. Converts the.TOP files to digital text file, supporting 5 languages recognition – English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Converts the.TOP files to digital ink files for further editing in OneNote(*.one), Word (*.doc), or Ink PDF(*.pdf) files Compresses the selected TOP file to ZIP file format and send by program directly. Allows to preview the TOP file for efficient file management.

Optional Software – MyScript Notes  MyScript Notes is a handy application that converts your handwritten notes and sketches into digital text and charts. Powerful OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Handwriting, shapes and tables can be converted into txt or word documents. MyScript Notes can convert notes written from a large selection of languages. You can create a personal recognition profile so that Notes can recognize your individual handwriting with even greater accuracy.
