Are there any other costs? License and Membership Fee paid annually. After 90 days you have the option of paying your License and Membership Fee annually in the amount of $100. This is a savings of $20 over the next 12 months, plus you get the first three months FREE! License and Membership Fee paid monthly. After 90 days you have the option of paying your License and Membership Fee monthly in the amount of $9.95. Your first three months are FREE!

ASL Training? Baby Signing Time Instructors can opt to take the Online Review (mentioned earlier) for Certification. If you have ASL formal training that can also be used for certification. If ASL is your first or second language, you can provide documentation for certification. Advanced and Master Instructors need to provide proof of ASL training or if ASL is the first or second language, documentation will be needed for certification. Advanced level will need 2 ASL approved courses and Master will need 4 ASL approved courses.

Video requirement? For the Advanced or Master level, a video of you signing a Signing Time song, and a children's book is required for Certification. Only one video is required. The video will be critiqued and evaluation will be shared with the applicant.

Who can I teach? Baby Signing Time Instructors can: Teach families with children up to the age of 3. Can provide a brief presentation or workshop to parents Advanced Signing Time Instructors can: Teach professionals and families with children of any age. Present at local, city, and state Conferences. Master Signing Time Instructors can: Teach professionals and families with children of any age. Present at local, city, state and National Conferences.

What is a profile page? As an Instructor you are allowed to have your own personal web page with detailed information about you, your classes, products that you offer, and any information that would help the public know what you are offering. On the Academy site, your profile page, offers an overview of what you are offering and direction to a web page (if you have one) for further information. It is a link directly to you and a service we provide you.

What is the FORUM? The Forum is another service provided by the Academy and is a private chat room for all Instructors from all over the world. Information for Instructors is shared there, and new ideas are discussed including helpful hints about classes and getting started. We have an amazing group of Instructors that are very giving and helpful to one another.

What if I need help? One of the benefits of becoming an Instructor at the Signing Time Academy is the amount of support and help you will receive. Academy Director-Gwen Cox is almost always available to answer questions, or just listen if you have a concern or success story to share. Associate Directors-We have 11 Associate Directors that take care of the Instructors in their region, including a Military specialist that mentors all of our Instructors associated with the Military.

What if I need help? Technical Assistance: LeeAnn Mason is a remarkable technical person, and will help you with any technical problems that might arise. She is the go-to person for problem solving. We have numerous other staff and professionals that will assist you with whatever needs you might have. We are unique in our service offerings and want you to feel like you have the Signing Time Academy at your back!

Signing Time Academy Conference? In Part 1 of the Webinar you hear me speak of the 2011 Signing Time Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a huge success and the Instructors had a ball getting to know each other and learning new techniques and programs. Everyone wished we had more time, so we are setting up the 2012 Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. YES, the home of Signing Time and Rachel Coleman will be the host of the 2012 Signing Time Academy Conference. Visit the Home page and read about the July 12-15, 2012 Conference and sign up to attend. It will be a memorable event...so come join us!

What is the last step in the process? Once you have submitted your application, completed your Background Check and License Agreement Form, submitted your ASL training documentation (or Online Review which is now required for all applicants), and if you are Advanced or Master; submitted your Video for approval, you will then be invited to share a Welcome Chat with your new mentor and Associate Director. Once the chat is complete, you will be announced as a NEW Certified Instructor in your area. It's that simple!
