XXI Pan American Congress Recommendations received from the point of view of State officials and experts on the subject, as well as the perspective of the region’s children and the representatives of civil society organizations. Leading to courses of action linked to national childhood systems, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their actions for the benefit of the comprehensive protection of children. At the same time, offering governments technical guidelines for public policy design.

XXI Pan American Congress World Report on Violence against Children No form of violence against children is justifiable. All forms of violence against children can be prevented. Children should not receive less protection than adults. The States should invest in evidence-based policies and programmes to address the causal factors of violence against children.

The IIN will cooperate with CARICOM States in the organization of symposia or other events related to the Congress, in order to help raise awareness regarding the principal issue to be addressed at the Congress: violence against children. These symposia/events will be organized together with the national liaison officers with whom the IIN has been cooperating, particularly in the areas of sexual exploitation and child participation. Work Area 2: The generation of information and knowledge on the subject of SEC, which will aid States Party in the design and implementation of their policies and action in addressing this problem. El Salvador - 1) Masculinity, sexuality and child abuse; 2) Client-exploiters; 3) Disabled children and adolescents and their increased exposure to sexual exploitation; 4) Social exclusion and the sexual exploitation of children. Uruguay - nationwide legal tools; the judicial system; intervention in commercial sexual exploitation of children situations (detection and restitution); interinstitutional coordination.
