LHTAC1 LOCAL HIGHWAY JURISDICTION EFFICIENCY  Add Reporting/Performance measures to the Road and Street Finance Report  Undertake a study to evaluate how well a sample of local highway jurisdictions achieve the goal of addressing 1/20 th of paved roads  Hold a Local Highway Efficiency Summit in September

LHTAC2 Local Highway Reporting/Performance Measures  Overall goal-improve 1/20 th of the local paved highway system each year  New Road Construction- Measure: lane miles constructed  New Bridge Construction- Measure: square feet of deck  Road Reconstruction- Measure: lane miles reconstructed  Maintenance, Chip Seal- Measure: lane miles chip sealed  Maintenance, Seal Coat- Measure: lane miles of seal coat  Maintenance, patching-Measure: square feet patched  Gravel Road Grading-Measure: lane miles graded

LHTAC3 Local Efficiency Study  Sample Local Highway jurisdictions  Adjust average costs to reflect regional differences and local standards  Calculate 1/20th of paved miles for each of the study jurisdictions  Develop a matrix that lists OPR projects and the number of miles completed for each jurisdiction  Prepare case studies to explain why jurisdictions achieved their results  Develop a list of the options that might be further evaluated for possible improvements in efficiency and cost effectiveness
