 “To prepare members for the realities and challenges of the corporate world and to provide members with an opportunity to develop leadership and managerial skills through philanthropic and organizational activities”  Accomplish our mission via: ◦ Team Building Activities ◦ Professional Development Events ◦ Philanthropic Events ◦ Social Events

 Every other Monday at 6pm ◦ 1 hour long  Recap of past events  Upcoming events  Team Building Activity  Committee Meetings ◦ Corporate Relations ◦ Community Service ◦ Social ◦ THON

 Assign point values to the various events one can attend ◦ Ranges from 5 points for typical events, to 15 points for time- consuming events  Must have at least 50 points at end of semester  Must attend one event for each committee  Must Pay Dues ◦ $20 due 10/28 ◦ If you turn them in by 9/30, you will get 5 points!

 End of semester awards for those with most points ◦ Platinum, Gold, Silver members  Competition with the Executive Board ◦ Beat an exec, and there will be consequences for them!

 Smeal Awards ◦ 2011 – Most Collaborative ◦ 2012 – Most Improved ◦ 2013 – Most Innovative Program  Project Management Program

 Give members a chance to take the lead on projects with organizations ◦ Organizations and businesses downtown ◦ Other student organizations  There will be an application and interview process to determine Project Managers for specific projects  Project Management Speaker Series

 First project – Global Entrepreneurship Week ◦ Linda Feltman of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) runs event ◦ November 18 th -24 th ◦ Wants help with organization, marketing, new events, etc.  Look for applications in future listserv s  Linda will hopefully be our first Speaker in late September!

 Meet with an exec board member or senior member of PMA throughout the semester to discuss being successful at Penn State and in your career  Open to anyone who would like to join  Tell an Exec Board member if you are interested at end of the meeting

 Largest student-run philanthropy in the world  46 hour dance marathon, year- long effort  Raised more than $101 million benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital since 1977  Last year, raised record breaking $12.37 million  Takes place in February
