IntroductionEat Well infoOlympic ValuesGet Active InfoFeel Good Info Here are some tips on how to deal with stuff when times are tough: Get rest Tiredness affects how you feel and can make things seem much more difficult than they are. So put down that games controller and get some shut-eye! Stay upbeat Don’t let those low feelings drag you down. Nip them in the bud and do something you know will cheer you up: maybe it’s playing your favourite song, going for a jog, watching your favourite film or playing some football. Have fun Ever heard the phrase, "laughter is the best medicine"? When you laugh, endorphins ("feelgood" hormones) are released, meaning you’ll probably feel more relaxed and less stressed. Pretty good for a simple chuckle. Enjoy the moment Being enthusiastic about what you’re doing, even if it’s just hanging out with friends is perfectly natural and helps you feel better. So next time you’re doing something you enjoy, take a moment to sit back and think about the experience. Talk to a friend If you’re upset or down, talking to someone you trust can really help. You can help others too by listening. It shows people that you’re there for them, and it’ll make you feel good to be able to help as well. Stay cool Anger is a natural response to feeling threatened, scared or frustrated, but acting on angry feelings usually causes more problems than it solves. Try the 24-hour rule Walk away, sleep on it, think, talk it over with someone and deal with the situation when you’re calm and can think clearly. Don't worry too much Try not to over-worry about things you can’t do anything about. Think of the big picture and remember that what seems like something massive now will, in a few days, a week or a month, seem small and insignificant. Ask for help if you’re not sure how to deal with something. Stay in control
