 What is the Suggested Bid Range and how does Facebook calculate it?  “… The suggested bid range is there to help you pick a maximum bid so your ad will be successful. It’s based on how many other advertisers are competing to show their ad to the same audience as you are. … the suggested bid range changes over time. This is normal, since it depends on how many other people are competing for your target audience.” (Direct quote - Source: 49/ ) 49/

 “Do I have to pay to run ads or sponsored stories on Facebook?  Yes, it costs money to run ads and sponsored stories on Facebook, just as it does to run ads in your local newspaper. Advertisers are in control of how much they spend by setting a daily or lifetime budget.  When you run your ad or sponsored story you will only be charged for the number of impressions (CPM) or clicks it receives. The amount that you pay will never be more than your daily or lifetime budget and there are no additional fees associated with running ads or sponsored stories on Facebook.” (Direct quote - Source:

 “What is the difference between paying for impressions (CPM) and paying for clicks (CPC)?  CPM stands for cost per 1,000 impressions. This means you’ll pay when people see your ad. When you set up your ad, your impressions will be optimized so your ad shows to people who are most likely to help you reach your goal. …  CPC stands for cost per click. If you are paying for clicks, you’ll be charged each time someone clicks on your ad or sponsored story. You can only pay for clicks if you choose See Advanced Options when you’re setting up your ad, or if you’re advertising an external website.  … paying for clicks isn’t as valuable if your goal is to get people to take an action on Facebook.  When you pay for clicks, your ad will be shown to the people who are most likely to click on your ad, but who may be unlikely to take any other action such as liking your Page, engaging with a Page post, installing your app, using your app or joining your event.” (Source:

 “5. Chain Letters 連鎖信 You’ve likely seen this one before It may appear in the form of, "Retweet this and Bill Gates will donate $5 million to charity!“  4. Cash Grabs 騙取現金 You just received an urgent request from one of your real friends who "lost his wallet on vacation and needs some cash to get home." So, being the helpful person you are, you send some money right away, …. But there’s a problem: Your friend never sent this request. In fact, he isn’t even aware of it. His malware-infected computer grabbed all of his contacts and forwarded the bogus to everyone, waiting to see who would bite.”  (Direct quote – source: p?aid=social_media_scams ) p?aid=social_media_scams

 “3. Hidden Charges 隱藏收費 "What type of STAR WARS character are you? Find out with our quiz! All of your friends have taken it!" … so you enter your info and cell number, as instructed. …that’s interesting … but not as much as your next month’s cell bill will be. You’ve also just unwittingly subscribed to some dubious service that charges $9.95 every month.  2. Phishing Requests 網絡釣魚請求 "Somebody just put up these pictures of you drunk at this wild party! Check 'em out here!" … you click on the enclosed link, which takes you to your Twitter or Facebook login page. There, you enter your account info - - and a cybercriminal now has your password, along with total control of your account.  1. Hidden URLs 隱藏網址 Beware of blindly clicking on shortened URLs. You'll see them everywhere on Twitter, but you never know where you're going to go since the URL ("Uniform Resource Locator," the Web address) hides the full location. Clicking on such a link could direct you to your intended site, or one that installs all sorts of malware on your computer.”  (Direct quote – source: scams) scams
