B ENEFITS OF THIS COMPUTER SIMULATION Can be used by teaches and students in classrooms to see the effects of: Amount of nutrients added or subtracted from individual plants Amount of PH level Temperature Water Level Electrical Conductivity Can be used in problem solving in real life applications by growers to achieve optimum growth

W HY USE COMPUTER SIMULATIONS ? Will help save time and wasted resources. Will save money spent on resources like nutrients, electricity, water, and more Can measure the rate and quality of plant growth By observation we can predict what a plant is lacking or getting too much of by implementing a computer simulation. Can help investors with a decision on future business ventures

S TEPS TO CREATING THE SIMULATION Collect field Data Enter desired data into a spreadsheet Take pictures of each plant every week to see how the variations affected it We will then take the data collected to create a computer simulation program that will produce accurate results.

D ATA NEEDED FOR COMPUTER SIMULATION Pictures taken on a weekly basis from the same angle. We can also take a video and pan around the whole plant to see more details The following data can be entered into a spreadsheet to product accurate results. PlantNutrient Amount PH LevelsTempWater LevelElectrical Conductivity Cucumber Corn

H OW THE DATA WILL BE USED After the accurate data is collected we can enter the variables into the simulation. Below is what the simulation could possibly look like with the graphic being animated as the levels are entered. Basically a user would choose or enter variables then the graphic would be displayed with text results.

C ONCLUSION Computer simulations educate in numerous ways. They will help sell the hydroponic sensor as well. If people actually see the benefits that it provides they will invest in the technology. This computer simulation would be based upon real life study therefore making it an accurate reliable resource.
