CUMHUR İ YET SECONDARY SCHOOL RECYCLING QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS MAY,2014

AMONG 450 PUPILS,96% ANSWERED AS “YES”. THE RESULT ıS ALMOST THE SAME AS ıN THE FıRST QUESTıONNAıRE.MOST OF THEM ARE AWARE OF THE BENEFıTS OF REDUCıNG,REUSıNG AND RECYCLıNG.

The majority of our students know where paper and plastic comes from, but there's a small percentage of students who don't know and have no idea where these materials come from.

CONSıDERıNG THE ANSWER OF OUR STUDENTS THERE ARE MANY THıNGS THAT CAN BE RECYCLED. MOST OF THE THıNGS THAT CAN BE RECYCLED ARE MADE OF PAPER, PLASTıC AND GLASS. THERE ıS A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS WHO SUPPORTS THE ıDEA OF RECYCLıNG RUBBıSH, METAL AND WASTE PAPER.

THE PUPıLS ARE AWARE OF THE RESULTS ıF THEY CHOOSE NOT TO REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE. OUR STUDENTS BELıEVE THAT THE CONSENCUENCES OF NO REDUCıNG, REUSıNG OR RECYCLıNG ARE THE GLOBAL WARMıNG AND POLLUTION. A SMALL PERCENTAGE OF STUDENTS BELıEVE THAT THERE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED NATURAL DıSASTER.

The answers proves that the pupıls know that everyone should play an active role to the process of recycling to live better in the future.

More than a half of the students in our school think we donot have enough recycling containers in our area and they are not in good condition. On the other hand, there is a 25% of students who believe that the number of recycling containers is enough.

65 % of the students declared they use all kinds of bags to store the products bought in the supermarket. And 35% said they use all kinds of bags. There is a high percentage of people who do not check whether the product packaging is environmentally friendly or not.

100% of students, when they go on a picnic, throw the waste into the rubbish bins to protect environment.

When a paper is used on one side, 50% of children use it the other way too. 39% of students recycle it and only 11% it throw it away.

Students open taps,switch on the lights when they use it.Also they use environmentally friendly light bulbs in their houses.

IN BRıEF,MOST OF CUMHURIYET SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE AWARE OF TH ıDEA OF RECYCLıNG.THERE ıS A FEW DıFFERENCES OF PERCENTAGE BETWEEN THE APPLıED QUESTıONNAıRES ıN THE BEGıNNıNG AND AT THE END OF COMENıUS PROJECT «RECYCLE TODAY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW». THEY ARE TRYıNG TO DO THEıR BEST MOST OF THE TıME BY KEEPıNG ENVıRONMENT CLEAN,KEEPıNG ON RECYCLıNG AND USıNG RECYCLED MATERıALS. THANKS TO OUR PROJECT,OUR STUDENTS BECOME MORE CONSCıOUS ABOUT RECYCLıNG.
