What is Counseling Counseling provides an opportunity for an individual (or couple) to work towards living in a more satisfying and resourceful way. It may be concerned with addressing and resolving specific problems, making decisions, coping with crisis, developing personal insight and knowledge, working through feelings of inner conflict or improving relationships with others. The counsellor’s role is to facilitate the client’s work in ways which respect the client’s values, personal resources and capacity for self- determination.

What is Counseling My Definition: A Process where the client feels that he or she has been heard, been understood, has been able to share all the feelings without being judged and feels that it is not the end of the world. There is HOPE

Purpose of Counseling To gain insight into the problem To learn that the problems can be resolved To get a greater understanding of ones strengths and weaknesses To be able to accept oneself and work on the areas of concern To be equipped with the skills for issues arising at a later stage again

Purpose of Counseling To help the client make the necessary change To help the client elevate to a higher level To help the client make independent decisions To help the client help himslef/herself It differs from casual conversation in being focused, specific and purposeful.

Why Counseling is needed to Children? To help child to get confidence To help child to get motivated for studies It will help the child to deal with his fears; problems; pent up emotions; Counseling will help in modifying child’s behavior if required.

Why Counseling is needed to Children? Counseling will help the child to deal with peer pressure and parental expectation. Counseling will help the child to enhance his/ her hidden skills. It will help to build their strengths and overcome their weakness.
