OSCA Ethical Guidelines - Tapes 11. Audio or videotapes of interviews require consent. A written explanation of the purpose of the audio or videotape and the way it will be used should be presented to the counsellee. Students under the age of eighteen require the consent of their parents. Tapes must be returned to the student/parent or the information erased after the purpose of the tape has been accomplished.
