Texas Six Flags The reason there are 6 flags is because Spain ruled Texas, then French colonist settled in the gulf region. When they left Spain ruled again. Then Mexico broke free from Spain and claimed Texas. The Texans didn’t like Mexico's rules. They fought a war and won their independence. Texas was it’s own Country.
