Presentation transcript:

 Remember Germany was in a Great Depression because of the BRAT. They were heavily punished after WWI. They had to pay reprimand for starting the war. This left Germany in debt.

Remember that this was the largest sea invasion by the Allies on the shore of the beaches in Normandy, France.

Think of dictators... They want/have complete control.

Remember: Hitler had an agreement with Stalin not to invade. Hitler broke the agreement. This caused Stalin to fight the war as a member of the Allied Powers.

Remember: When people make money, they spend money.

 Remember: Einstein is responsible for giving President Roosevelt advice that led to the Manhattan Project.

 Remember: The language was learned by mouth. The Navajo secret codes were very useful in our fight at Iwo Jima.

 Remember: Japan was on a mission to capture the islands in the Pacific. The Battle of Midway is a turning point because they were stopped from advancing to capture more islands.

 Remember: The Allies were trying to get close to Japan. Their plan was to do this one island at a time.

 You should have no problem remembering this.

 Remember: The war started in Europe. That is where Germany and Italy were doing the fighting. Japan was trying to capture islands in the Pacific. Remember Pearl Harbor.

 Remember: Hitler blamed the Jewish population for Germany’s problems. He thought that Germany would be a more powerful nation without them. Think of our book.

 Remember: We asked Japan not to invade China. Japan continued with their invasion and we stopped selling rubber and oil to them. They became angry and bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, This is a day that will live in infamy.

 Remember our song: Germany, and Italy, and Japan war flags unfurled.

 Hint: These African Americans pilots were named the Tuskegee Airmen! Who gave them their first chance to fly????

 Remember: After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the government thought that this group would help Japan attack from the inside. Think of our story: Baseball Saved Us.

 See the Einstein slide…

 Hint, Hint: The question asked which battle did Germany retreat out of Soviet Union right? Well who is the leader of Soviet Union? Joseph Stalin. Do you see the connection between Stalin’s name and the battle’s title?

 Warning: Don’t confuse this with internment camp. Internment camps were in America and Japanese Americans were held there. Concentration camps were in Europe.

 Song: U.S., England, Russia too Also Canada, Australia, and also Greece and others fought to bring peace

 By lending these supplies to Britain, many isolationists argued that the U.S. was already involved in the war.

 Use your slip to record your score and to see which category you are in. I know you are all pros. If not, try, try, and try again.  Happy studying students!
