Existing System Payroll System Completely paper-based Inefficient Potential for inaccuracies/discrepancies Wastes administrative time Returns System Currently, there is no system in place for returns to manufacturers Gun Repairs System Hand-written Time consuming Potential for mass confusion

Business Need Payroll system More efficient and effective way to manage employees and employee payroll, thus saving both time and money Returns System Will assist Tyner Petrus in being compensated for returned goods to manufacturer Will help customers get the replacements they need when they need it, thus increasing customer satisfaction Gun Repairs System Will allow Tyner Petrus to provide their customers with better service

Functionality After speaking with our sponsor and researching the companies current systems, we have identified 3 business processes which can be improved by being made electronic and/or automated. Employee Database and Payroll System Returns System Gun Repairs Database and Ticketing System

Employee Database and Payroll System Purpose: Automation of employee clock in and out procedure – Slide card system – Direct deposit capabilities – Log hours for each pay period – Automatically place information on checks

Returns System Purpose: Aid in the effort to get credit back from the manufacturers – Tracking of why, when, for whom, and to which manufacturer an item was sent back. – Receiving updates on the status of returned items

Gun Repairs Database and Tracking System Purpose: Better tracking of the gun repair services – Maintain information about each gun brought in Contact info Reason repair is needed Expected pick-up time – Create an invoice for each gun repair

Expected Value Tangible: – The employee database and payroll system will cut down on paperwork and administration tasks. This will save time. – The returns database will likely help Tyner Petrus regain money on defective products. – The gun repairs database will allow Tyner Petrus to ensure proper payment is received for the repair work done.

Expected Value Intangible: – By use of the returns system, Tyner Petrus may be able to get replacement products for customers, this in turn will increase customer loyalty – The returns system will also create a less stressful way of dealing with returns, thus a happier workplace. – Administrative employees may be happier due to less paperwork, and be able to work more efficiently.

Expected Value Intangible: – Accurate scheduling will boost employee morale. – An accurate time tracking system coupled with a better payroll system will result in satisfied employees. – Maintaining accurate information on the repair work done will result in a more satisfied customer.

Special Issues or Constraints – Time frame to complete system planning, analysis, and design is short and strict. There is not much room for error. – Systems must be functional and reliable. – Systems must be user friendly. – Systems must be secure as they will contain sensitive information.
