Emergency Medicine Goal 1 – Bill 85,000 patient visits per year. Objective :To capture patient charges for all patients seen in the ECC including PACe. Significantly decrease the volume of missing charges. Objectives TacticsResponsible Person DeadlineMetrics 1.Reduce the number of missing patient charges. Insure there is no category of patients that are being excluded from the billing cycle.  Patients admitted to ICU.  Patients admitted to inpatient beds.  Patients who go from ECC to OR.  Trauma patients.  Patients arriving by ambulance. Compare patients registered in GMH SMS Registration System with the patients billed in IDX monthly. Initiate physician charge sheet for all patients in SMS, but not billed in IDX Physician documentation attached to the new charge sheets and physicians code charges. Copy of charge sheet furnished to ECC and EMCF. GMH Business Analyst provides a list of 100 patient names from each category. Latriece looks up patients in IDX to insure they were billed. GMH Business Analyst provides a list of patients registered in SMS to EMCF daily. Sonja Dunn insures charge sheets initiated for each patient. Burton April 1 April 15 April 1 Ongoing Categorically verify that patients from each category are being billed in IDX. Verify 100 percent of patients registered in SMS are billed in IDX. EMCF receives a list of registered patients Daily from GMH. EMCF initiates charge sheet for each missing patient charge. Documentation provided for all charge sheets. New charges submitted to EMCF within 15 days.
