Vaccines, Blood & Biologics By: Kirsten Rich, Valyssa Biese, Meghan Wenninger

Vaccines  The FDA puts vaccines through a lot of testing to make sure they’re safe  They test them at the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER)

Biologics  The FDA regulates the type of research that goes on  They’re teaching the people at the CBER about the efficiency of biological products

Blood  FDA inspects all blood industries at least every two years  They also require all blood centers to keep lists of “unsuitable” donors  Blood and blood products can carry risks of infectious agents, so the FDA is driving that to the lowest risk as possible.
