What is it? A process for peer reviewing and depositing early research work in an online repository linked to the White Rose website Who is it for? PhD students Early career researchers

Why has it been set up? To enable PhD students and early career researchers to: disseminate their early research work receive constructive feedback from peers and academics in a supportive environment practise the skill of academic writing learn about the publishing and reviewing process

The Process Author submits paper via Editor sends paper to an appropriate academic and PhD reviewer Reviewers send their comments to the Editor Editor makes a decision: a. Accept b. Revise and resubmit (R&R) c. Reject Editor sends a response and the reviewers’ comments to the author If R&R, author resubmits and includes responses to the reviewer’s comments Once accepted, the paper is deposited in an online repository linked to the White Rose website

To provide informative, interesting and practical advice on how PhD students and early career researchers can enhance their employability in the current academic climate. To provide an overview of the importance of the impact and engagement agenda, followed by key insights from a case study showing how this can be successfully translated into research practice. To engage in candid discussions around the realities of research. Panel members shared insights, top tips and pitfalls to avoid (what the text books don’t tell you) about how to successfully navigate the research process.
