How do angels and the Holy Spirit work together or are they separate entities? Angels are messengers of God They carry out the commands of God The Holy Spirit is a part of the Godhead It guided the Apostles into all truth- John 16:13 Conversion of the Eunuch - Acts 8:26-40 v Angel of the Lord v The Spirit v The Spirit Gave the Message Got the prospect and the preacher together

Will we ever see an angel ? No evidence from the Bible that an angel will appear to men on earth to give a message from God. We already have the complete revelation from God 2 Tim. 3: All scripture Gal. 1:8 “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”

Will we ever see an angel ? We will see an angel when the Lord Returns 1 Thes. 4:16 - voice of the archangel Matt. 24:31 - “And he shall send his angels…” Matt. 16:27 - “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.”

Devils - Demons Greek word “Daimon” - translated Demon Only one “Devil” but many “Demons” Demon possession was a real thing in 1 st century Demons are the departed spirits of especially wicked people which in some way escaped Tartarus and came back to earth and inhabited the bodies of people in Bible Times.

Do Men communicate with the dead ? Ancient practice - Babylon and Egypt 2 Kings 21:6 - Enchantments = spells ESV fortune telling - Familiar spirits = necromancers - Wizards = Male - Witch = Female Sorcery - magic

Do Men communicate with the dead ? Do Men communicate with the dead ? Men today cannot communicate with the dead It is faked - trickery - deception It is Sinful - Gal. 5:19-20 “Witchcraft” It is useless - what could the dead tell ? Not about life on earth - Eccl. 9:5,6 No secrets from God - Deut. 29:29 Of spiritual status - Luke 16:27-31

What about Demon Possession today ? It was a 1 st century occurrence God allowed during public ministry of Christ He had power over the spirit world Christ had control over: Nature - Mark 4: Sea calmed Disease - Mark 3:1-6 - healed man Material - John 2:9 - water to wine Death - John 11:44 - Lazarus Spirits - Luke 11:20 - cast out demons

What about Demon Possession today ? Luke 10:17-19 Fall of Satan in area of demon possession 1 Cor. 13: miracles have ceased With the passing of the apostles and their power - passed also the age of demon possession Demons today do not have the ability to possess our body as they did in the day of Jesus.

Satan is a being with mind and a will of his own. Job 1 - Satan talked with God about Job Matt. 4 - Jesus confronted the devil Personal appearance is never described His mission is to destroy 1 Pet. 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

Why did God give such power to Satan ? Why do some men have so much power ? Hitler - Stalin Power of choice - made the wrong choice Devil created as a good being - but made the wrong choice and became evil Used to test and purify a people for heaven !

Can the Devil perform miracles ? Rev. 16:14 “For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles,…” Rev. 13:14 “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do…” 2 Thes. 2:9 “…after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.”

Can the Devil perform miracles ? Devil tries to duplicate what God has done Exodus 7:8-13 Aaron cast rod before Pharaoh and it became a serpent Magicians did the same Was this through the power of Satan ? Difference ~ Aaron’s rod swallowed the others Satan has limited power !

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Cor. 2:11
