How to type in a URL Address
What is a URL address? It is an address that tells the computer to take you to a web page. All web pages have their own URL address.
Here is an example of a URL address:

Let’s take a closer look at a URL Address: Most URL addresses begin with “http” followed by a colon and 2 forward slashes.
“www” stands for World Wide Web.
weather. com “Dots” are used to separate the different sections of the URL address.
“.com” tells you that this is a commercial website.
This is the address line.
To type in a URL address, highlight the address line by right clicking on it once. It will make it blue.
Type the new URL address beginning with “
Click on “Go” or hit “Enter” on your keyboard.
Your computer will take you to the new URL address.
“.gov” tells you that this is a government website.
“.edu” tells you that this is a school website.
“.org” tells you that this website was created by a non-profit organization or group.
“.net” tells you that this website is part of a network.
