How do I do research???

What makes a good website? Stay away from sites that can be edited by anyone! Ask.com Yahoo answers Ehow.com Is Wikipedia okay? Wikipedia is okay for GENERAL answers Good starting off point, but should NOT be where all of your information is from

Why should I cite my source? Even if you rewrite the information in your own words, you still need to site your source because the information or ideas were not yours Plagiarism is a form of stealing Can have extreme consequences!

How do I cite my sources? Mrs. G will work with you to write your bibliography, for now when using a source write down the following information. 1.Author: 2.Title of Article 3.Title of Website 4.Date of Publication/Revision 5.Website Address 6.Date of Access If a website doesn’t have all or most of these things, it may not be very credible

Where do I find this information? Puffer Fish Website

Puffer Fish Source Card 1.Author: None Given 2.Title of Article: Pufferfish Tetraodontidae 3.Title of Website: National Geographic 4.Date of Publication/Revision: Website Address: 6.Date of Access: Nov 8, 2014

What should I type into my search engine? Do not type full questions! Use key words If I want to know what habitat great white sharks live in I would type: Great White Shark Habitat
