StressChill App Click the StressChill icon (shown to the right) to open the app. If you do not see this on the desktop, you will find it in the pull up menu.

Login After clicking the app, you will be brought to the login page. Click “Save for next time” if you would like the app to autofill your login information the next time you open the app.

Main Page After logging into the app, you will be brought to a screen that allows you to do two things: –“Map a Site!” : click this to add your observation of a Stressful or Chill situation –“View Results” : click this to view the last 50 observations uploaded by all users Pressing the “menu” button on your phone at this page will bring up options to view the “about” page and the “instructions” –Select either of these options for more information

Map a Site! Clicking “Map a Site!” will bring you to the page shown here. You may optionally click “Take a Picture” to bring up the camera and take an image to associate with this observation. –You may click this button again if you wish to retake the image The slider bar allows you to set how this observation makes you feel (stressed or chill). –Sliding the bar left indicates stress. –Sliding the bar right indicates chill –The further you slide the bar, the greater the intensity The drop down menu under “I am tagging this place now because of…” describes why you took this observation. –This is a required field.

Category Dropdown Clicking the dropdown menu below “I am tagging this place now because of…” brings up the menu shown here. Select the category that best describes why you are taking this observation

Subcategory After selecting a category, a new dropdown menu appears –The items in this dropdown menu are based off of your previous selection –The text describing the dropdown menu is also based off of your previous selection Click the new dropdown menu to select a subcategory to further describe why you are making this observation. This is a required field.

Subcategory Dropdown This is an example of what the dropdown menu may look like. Remember that the contents of this menu will not always be the same. They are base off of what you selected as the main category

Finish submitting Below the dropdown menus is “Comments” –This is a text box for you to put any additional notes about why you are submitting this observation. –This is an optional field When you are done, click Upload. –This will take you back to the main page

Viewing Data Clicking “View Results” on the main page will take you to a map displaying the last 50 observations submitted by all users. Each android icon displayed on the map is the location of an observation tagged by a user. –Clicking on this icon will display detailed information about the observation

Troubleshooting In order for your app to upload an observation, the phone must acquire a GPS lock. –You can verify that your phone has GPS data by checking the status of the satellite icon that appears at the top of the screen when you select ‘Map a Site’. If the icon is blinking this means the phone is still communicating with the GPS satellites to triangulate your position. If the icon is not blinking, your phone has a GPS lock and can assign coordinates to your observation. Another potential problem can be the phone not establishing a data connection –If your phone has a data connection, you should see an icon with an E or a 3G. –Additionally, you can check that you have a data connection by opening the web browser on the phone and performing any random search in Google.
