Promoting Physical Education Through Video Dean Chambers National MS

Introduction: Developing a Video Presentation to Promote Physical Education in Your Community Discuss various avenues for promoting a quality Physical Education program. Identify a target audience for your program. Develop a video storyboard. Develop a video.

Steps for a Successful Physical Education Video Steps for a Successful Physical Education Video Step 1: Know your intent and the target audience Step 2: Develop a Storyboard Step 3: Collect video, photo and audio that represent the story board. Step 4: Import and edit media with editing software Step 5: Save and show the promotional video

Step I: Audience –What is the video about? –Who is the objective audience? –What traits of your program do you want to promote? –How will you best get the message delivered through video, photo and audio clips to your intended audience?

Differentiation Students should work collaboratively doing this task. Students with higher abilities will be grouped with students of lower abilities. Students are bound to have differences in strengths of intelligences within these groupings.

Step II: The Story Board –Preparation phase –Layout of message –What to plan: Titles Media clips (photo, video and audio) Camera angles (pan, zoom, camera level, Video editing for clips:

Differentiation Groupings will complete the Project Scope Sheet and Story Board together. –The Project Scope Sheet is a written task, so students that identify with verbal-linguistic intelligences or higher learning students will work on this. –The story board is an artistic task, so students that identify with visual-spatial or lower ability students will work on this.

Step III: Video, Photos, Audio –Video Shoot in second clips Shoot at different levels / perspectives –Photos High resolution Color / black and white –Audio Voice over narration Audio should be appropriate for audience Clips for educational use

Differentiation Videos and photos can be captured by the visual-spatial learner. All students can complete these tasks. Audio can be captured by the verbal- linguistic learner. All students can complete these tasks.

Step IV: Edit Media and Software Import and Edit Media –Upload video and photography –Import into editing software Common editing software –Windows Movie Maker –IMovie –Adobe Premier –Vegas Studio

Differentiation These tasks incorporate all learners, as the –Verbal-Linguistic student will want to add narration to the story. –Logical/Mathematical student will want to organize the photos and videos into a story. –Visual/Spatial student will want to edit the photos and videos. –Bodily/Kinesthetic student will want to help in the technological organization of the project. –Musical/Rhythmic student will want to place a sound track on the finished project.

Step V: Promote Save and Promote –Save to a format that is best for distribution to your audience DVDCDWMF Quick Time

Differentiation Logical-mathematical students will gravitate towards this task, but higher ability students can show other students the various saving formats.

Conclusion: Diff w/ Tech This PowerPoint presentation can be used to show educators how easy it can be to include ALL students in the creation of a video for physical education purposes. This is also a way to promote physical education to today's youths through the technological platform.
