Objective The Objective of this presentation is to give you the student the basic know-how in order use digital cameras and their images.

History First commercial digital camera was introduced by Kodak in 1991

First consumer level digital camera was introduced by Apple in 1994 called the Quicktake 100 Price 1, in 1994 Price today x 480 pixel resolution Today Digital Cameras are better and smaller than ever and extremely competitively priced.

Parts of a Camera

How It Works Digital Cameras are similar to regular cameras except the capture the picture on sensors called CCD (Charged Coupled Devices) instead of light sensitive film.

How It Works The camera then takes the image on CCD and turns into a digital format that can be stored on memory flash card

Camera Terms

Advantages Image can be viewed instantly, instant gratification Delete on the spot Low cost production, only print what you want Direct input to computers for editing and filing

Disadvantages You can lose all your pictures very quick You seldom have albums
