Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Reduce means cut the amount of stuff you use so that you have less to throw away.

What can you do to reduce waste? Here are some ideas for reducing waste. Can you think of any other way to reduce it?

How can you reuse these items? Show one item at a time and brainstorm ways you can reuse it.

Recycle means using things that have already been used, to make new things.

What are some things you can recycle? In small groups or as a class brainstorm other things you can recycle.

Does anyone know why we use these containers? Do you have one of these containers at your house? What do you put in it?

Raise the green circle if the item can be recycled in the blue container. Raise the red circle if it shouldn’t go in the blue container.
