Unit 2 Remember three words : reduce,reuse and recycle.

1.Look at the pictures. Say which things are better for the environment and why.

1.Do you try to walk or ride a bike to school? 2.Do you buy new clothes just because they are the latest fashions? 3.Do you open a window instead of turning on air conditioning? 4.Do you buy things produced local instead of made aboard? 5.Do you take your own cloth bag when shopping instead of using plastic bags? 6.Do you sort the waste before throwing it away?

Reduce = In order to reduce: We shouldWe shouldn’t reason Use less waste things buy too many things from abroad choose local products if possible. buy something new only when necessary. buy anything that is unnecessary. save This saves money and reduces pollution and waste going into the environment.

Reuse = In order to reuse: We should We shouldn’t reason use again Use a paper cup or a paper bag. Look after things so that they will last, repair them if we can. When we buy things, make sure that they last a long time. Use things for as long as possible. We can use them again. Use a china cup and a lunch box. Throw them and buy new ones.
