In St Helens most child pedestrians are hurt whilst crossing the road because they did not look properly or they crossed between parked cars

The main time for children to be involved in road traffic collisions is during the week from 3pm to 5pm

How to keep yourself safe

What can we do to make it safer for us? Take this leaflet home and give it to your grown ups. Talk to them about the problem of parking near to school. Ask your grown ups to find somewhere safer to park.

What can we do to make it safer for us? Ask your grown ups to park away from the school – and definitely not on the zigzags or yellow lines! Help your grown ups by spotting driveways so they can park away from them.

What can we do to make it safer for us? Have a go at ‘Park and Walk’ with your grown ups. When you go in the car, make sure you always get out of the car on to the pavement – not into the road.

We will have some special people to help us keep safe. Parking Enforcement Officers from the Council will help us by visiting. They will give out tickets and fines to people who park dangerously or selfishly.
