Bookstart – The Concept Bookstart is based on the principle that every child in the UK should have the opportunity to enjoy book sharing from as early an age as possible. Quality Time - Listening, Talking, Having Fun Emphasis on reading for pleasure Positive effect on early literacy

Bookstart – The Practicalities Gift of free packs of books with information Packs gifted by health visitors, libraries etc

Distribution of packs: Baby Pack – 100% coverage = Best Practice Treasure Chests – 99% coverage = Best Practice
