Target Market & Postioning Pharmacy shoppers Customers that do not want to fight with bigger stores Coupon shoppers Positioning Walgreens is a convenient place to get your beauty care items, prescriptions, some food items and baby items. They have the drive thru and provide a nice place to shop that is not as crowded. They also cater to the coupon customer base as they have an excellent coupon policy and normally train their associates very well on that.

Strategy Walgreens has the strategy to serve customers that need prescriptions, photos, and other household items. The store is normally not as crowded as big box stores and the staff is friendly.

Competitive Advantage Assortment of Merchandise Convenience Location normally in a good area of town, if not multiple Prices Coupon Policy

Retail Mix Merchandise variety- they offer a wide variety of items, from photos to prescriptions to baby items. Merchandise Assortment – Many different name brand as well as a Walgreens brand Pricing- Competitive pricing Customer Service- Great customer service, some locations are better than others, as with the coupons MT Rushmore store and Lacrosse stores are the best

SWOT Strengths- One stop shopping, Great Coupon Policy, Customer Loyalty, Greats hours normally 24/7, open holidays, online ordering of prescriptions Weakness- not a large food variety, weaker economy, prices Opportunities – Include more food items, add reward program, opening more stores in smaller towns Threats – big box stores as Walgreens does not have a large food selection, not in smaller towns
