RNA Structure RNA is a short polymer – Allows RNA to move through nucleus RNA is single stranded RNA does not self replicate
RNA Nucleotide Phosphate: Same as DNA Sugar: Ribose Bases – Adenine – Guanine – Cytosine – Uracil
RNA Base Pairing Rules G still bonds with C A bonds with U
3 Types of RNA mRNA – messenger (carries info to ribosome) tRNA – transfer (moves amino acids to ribosomes) rRNA – ribosomal (makes up ribosomes)
