Classroom Routines We have a list of expectations and procedures we have reviewed and are following in the classroom. Various routines followed. “Problem Report” sent home after warning system breakdown

Needed Learning Materials Indoor shoes (non-marking) Change of clothes (optional) Different coloured pencil crayons (for home use) Please do not let your child bring anything to school that will distract him/her (i.e., too large ruler) or is of valuable to him/her (i.e., Pokemon cards) that if it gets lost or stolen, he/she will be very upset  Healthy and nutritious DAIRY-FREE foods for young working minds 

Expectations of Students Students are expected to be respectful to everyone and put forth his or her best effort

Homework Expectations Homework must be completed each evening – usually any unfinished classroom work and reading (Monday to Thursday—weekends free) As per the Ministry guidelines, students in Grade 2 should have 20 minutes each night Emphasis on the basics: Reading (Decoding to Comprehension) Basic Addition and Subtraction facts Home Activities Duotang Unpacked (optional)

Classroom Management I praise positive behaviour in my class. Students can earn a Catch-A-Kid. I also use a warning system. If he/she gets to three warnings then there is a consequence to match, i.e., wasting class time by walking, not doing work = loss of recess time. Parents will be notified if it is an on-going problem.

Communication with Parents Open door policy – anytime you need to talk to me, please feel free to call, or set up a time to meet No emails, please Agenda Homework website www.wcdsb.ca - ClassNet Monthly Newsletter In lieu of food treats for special occasions, consider sending in loot bags (we have students with food allergies)

Agendas Agendas are an important tool for the students, parents and myself! I will try to check agendas every day to ensure that the agenda has been signed, and will sign it every day. Please make sure to look at his/her agenda every day. If he/she forgets it at school, check the homework website as per my newsletter or call a friend. 
