Location  Algeria is in Africa  Bordered by Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, and the Mediterranean Sea

Climate  In the North by the Mediterranean it has hot, dry summers with mild, wet winters  In the plateau regions there are high temperatures and some rain  In the south by the Sahara, there are desert conditions

Capital  Algiers capital of Algeria  Largest city in Algeria  Located on a bay of the Mediterranean Sea  Port city  U.S. State Department warns against travel to it

“Official Things”  Currency- Algerian dinar  Language- Arabic

Economy  Main industry is export of oil and gas products  Some areas grow wheat, barley, potatoes, vegetables, oranges, olives, grapes, dates  Mountain slopes and plateaus used to raise sheep, cattle and goats
