June NOAA Partnership Policy Update: Environmental Information Services Working Group (EISWG) 2009 (Jan 23) – Federal Register Notice closes with 50 nominations received. Ad Hoc selection committee reviewed the list of nominees and selected those best suited to carry out the charge of the working group (March) – SAB approved the list of candidates for EISWG and in process of making calls to selected nominees (Summer/Fall) - Initial approach of the EISWG will focus on interaction between the commercial weather industry, academia, the media and NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS). Complementary Roles: EISWG & NWS Partners EISWG and NWS Partners, while separate entities, are equally important in improving communications among all sectors of the Weather and Climate Enterprise and providing guidance to NWS on the future direction of NWS products and services.
