Overview of the MAP Assessment Implementation Appoquinimink School District Board Meeting 10/13/09

The Actual Testing Before the start of school, the tests were loaded onto district computers and class rosters were assembled. Testing began in many schools on the first day of school. Almost 7,000 students have been tested in both Reading and Math.

Use of Results Scores have been examined to predict the percentage of students that are expected to meet the Spring DSTP standards in the Spring. Students scoring below the 25 th percentile in Reading have been identified for Tier 2 Interventions via RTI. Teacher training has occurred in order to adjust instruction based upon results.

Why MAP? Beginning of year assessment Time of assessment Ability to measure growth Adaptive Measurement Common metric Ability to impact instruction
