The Slumber Party Putting America’s issues to rest.

Solar Power and Renewable Resources As the cost of fossil fuels continues to fluctuate, the demand for sustainable resources increases. The Slumber Party supports a gradual national movement towards a cleaner, more sustainable, more efficient America.  The Slumber Party strongly supports the creation and research of new and sustainable energy sources, solar power in particular.  Studies show that solar energy pays for itself in an average time span of 5-10 years, and it continues to grow cheaper.  The Slumber Party will offer tax breaks to corporations that use solar energy and other renewable resources as their main source of power.

Immigration  The Slumber Party’s stance on immigration is to keep the standards for immigration where they are now. We should continue building walls and fences and institute more guards. The borders should also be steadily maintained. Immigration quotas should not be increased Illegal Immigration is an economic burden to America A state-of-the-art fence along the US Mexico border is a good solution to illegal immigration. Current guest worker programs are not effective without effective border protection A large portion of taxes are not being paid by illegal immigrants Guest worker programs are a good solution to help the economic crisis that is Mexico and discourage illegal immigration

Education The Slumber Party believes education should be a priority in our country and early childhood education should be mandatory. We also believe that the government should stop funding charter schools in the united states and instead use that money to fund Pre-K Education Centers. Early childhood education o Children learn important social skills that will help them get along with other kids o Helps kids get ready to start their former education o Teaches children the basics of learning in a school and teaches them classroom behaviors o Children are better equipped to learn, better behaved, and overall more prepared o Enhances attention spans of children Charter schools o They take away funding from public schools o Create an unfair playing field with their elitist tendencies o There is less diversity in charter schools than in public schools. They are essentially publically funded private schools. Education

2 nd Amendment We believe that Gun Control Laws should stay the way they are now with strict backround checks. We do not want the 2 nd Amendent to be infringed upon. A recent study published in the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy concluded that there is a negative correlation between gun ownership and violent crime in countries internationally (more guns = less crime). Americangunfacts.com showed that Nations with strict gun control laws have substantially higher murder rates than those who do not Americangunfacts.com also concluded that 9 European nations with the lowest gun ownership rate have a combined murder rate 3 times that of the 9 European nations with the highest gun ownership rate A study conducted at Harvard found that the more guns a nation has the less crime it tends to have. In other words, there is a very strong positive correlation between more guns and less crime. According to infowars.com despite the very strict ban on guns in the UK, the overall rate of violent crime in the UK is about 4 times higher than it is in the United States. In one recent year, there were 2,034 violent crimes per 100,000 people in the UK. In the United States, there were only 466 violent crimes per 100,000 people during that same year. All in all, the correlation between crime and gun control comes from the illegal distribution of firearms, not the legal distribution.

National Debt This Party of the American people believes programs that the government is wasting money on to fund should be eliminated by cutting them out of the federal budget. Most of the areas that need funding, such as education, are not being funded properly. Pros for eliminating government funded programs o Allowing some of these programs to be cut from the federal budget will reduce future loss of money o There will be no need for higher taxes in the future o The economy will grow from not having to spend on deficit o According to an article by Brian M. Riedl, wasteful spending falls into six categories: programs that should be devolved to the state and local government, programs that could be better performed by the private sector, mistargeted programs whose recipients should not be entitled to government benefits, outdated programs, duplicate programs, and fraud. o According to the problems of high national debt include more frequent and severe financial crises, significantly slower economic growth, and higher rates of inflation.

Affirmative Action Our party’s stance is that Affirmative Action is an effective method at equalizing the chance of minorities to get the same employment or educational opportunities as those of the majority race or gender. This idea was created to right the wrongs that happened to these groups throughout history. The fact that only 48% of the college educated workplace are white men is considered a success for affirmative action, research shows that white men hold 90% of top jobs in news media, 96% of CEO positions, 86% of law firm partnerships, and 85% of tenured college faculty positions.

Abortion The Slumber Party strongly believes that abortion is unethical unless the woman was raped and the pregnancy directly threatens the mother’s life. Many highly respected doctors agree that at a certain time after conception, the fetus can feel pain during an abortion. Traditional religious values hold that abortion is the deliberate destruction of a life, emphasized by biological facts to support that. “Life begins at conception, so unborn babies are human beings with a right to life. ” Abortions take away the babies fundamental right to life. Adoption is a way for people to give up their baby while also respecting it’s right to life. Unless the mother was raped or child labor will kill her, unwanted children should be put up for adoption.
