Bethany & Benjamin seen by 9906 children (118% of target) Child seat checks delivered all over the county, at events in every market town and upon request 6940 children took part in Step On It (114% of target)

1803 children took part in Level 1 Cyclist Training (102% of target) 1879 children took part in Level 2 Cyclist Training (69% of target) 7314 children saw ‘The Dims’ presentation (113% of target) That’s a total of 3682 young cyclists trained!

2568 children saw the Red Lights / Green Lights presentation (58% of target) 4193 children saw the Grim Reaper presentation (84% of target) 8807 students took part in Young Driver Education sessions (107% of target)

City College successfully toured 20 Norfolk schools with their Road Safety play Parking Around Schools Campaign with the City Council At the request of Thorpe St Andrew 6th Form we have delivered an assembly to 275 students about the risks of drink driving Walking Bus staff trained at Ashwicken Primary. County arboricultural assistance found to re-risk assess walking bus route through the woods Ongoing work training Scout leaders in south-east Norfolk to deliver cyclist training Liaison with Youth Offending Team – new presentation developed Off road cycling courses at the Brooke school cycling day organised by the PTA Some highlights….

Throughout the year we worked with 1519 different volunteers to deliver Road Safety to all types of road user in Norfolk (104% of target) The Keep Your Mind On The Road campaign enabled us to recruit over 100 new volunteers to assist in the delivery of Road Safety in Norfolk Norfolk County Council - Could you be a road safety volunteer?

Volunteers helped to deliver the TREAD scheme Attended the Chairman’s Volunteering Reception to promote our schemes of work Suffolk Roads Policing + Suffolk Road Safety + Norfolk volunteer attended BSB Snetterton Wimbotsham Bike Show, where the RSO was supported by a volunteer Volunteer used bike for a whole weekend of visits and events Volunteers attended launch of BMW MC range Wells Bike Show/ Hunstanton (2 volunteers ) Some highlights…. Young drivers took part in 366 TREAD workshop deliveries (51% of target) 373 older drivers signed up for advice & training (162% of target) 317 motorcyclists undertook training on one of our schemes (106% of target) GOLD - Guidance for the Older Driver Think! Road Safety | Tread Says Think! Road Safety | Training

We engaged with 161 businesses & organisations offering advice, policy writing & training. This will enhance the safety of their fleets and reduce costs alongside Co2 emissions, thereby improving the local economy & environment. (134% of target) Throughout the year we delivered Court Diversion courses to drivers, providing essential training and education to those that have been identified as needing it. (130% of target)

Some highlights…. Talks to Norwich Business Forum, Snettisham Hospice volunteers and an Older Drivers group at East Harling New skid avoidance course launched and numerous deliveries taking place Campaign of eye sight testing at garden centres in partnership with Roads Policing Community presentation at the Pennoyers Centre re older & younger driver Presentation to the local RoSPA group Winter Driving Presentation developed in partnership with Norfolk & Suffolk 4x4 response EcoSafe driving sessions for staff at Banham Zoo Presentation given at HomeShield event A We Mean Business presentation to 30 local H&S managers More Rider Downloads added to the set

We continued to support 30 Community Speed Watch teams to deploy SAM flashing signs within their communities and numerous Parish Partnership requests for SAM2 Throughout the year we developed and delivered the Road Safety 1 st initiative with Norfolk Constabulary & other partners We have regularly worked with the media to promote our message and support the work of the Road Casualty Reduction Group. This has been a challenging year of mixed results, during which we have seen new staff join us and established colleagues leave. Both of these elements have had an effect on our figures, with some schemes of work showing delivery reductions. Norfolk is still a safe place in which to travel, but as you can see, we are starting to lose ground on previous successes. Over the coming months we will need to build upon our strengths, whilst becoming more flexible and responsive to specific needs within the communities. We still have a lot of work to do, by maintaining our excellent relationships with partners and communities we will carry on providing the best possible service to the people of Norfolk.
