Orkla’s EHS ambitions SafetyOccupational healthEnvironment We will develop health- promoting workplaces. We will reduce and control sickness absence. GOAL: Sickness absence < 4% We will minimise our environmental footprint by ensuring that our activities and products do not harm the environment. We will continuously reduce the number of injuries. GOAL: LWDR = TRR = 0 Our vision of zero harm to people and the environment is fundamental

Orkla’s EHS framework Applies to all Orkla businesses The Orkla EHS Standard is the cornerstone: Requirement of uniform EHS management Focus on critical factors Specific requirements relating to occupational health, occupational safety and the external environment Important elements and tools: Training Risk assessments Non-conformance handling Audits Reporting Networks and best-practice sharing

Our EHS framework ensures continuous improvement 11 Orkla EHS standard Towards zero harm

AGENDA: 1. A few facts about Orkla 2. Orkla’s focus on EHS and occupational health 3. How can we create health-promoting workplaces?12

Health-promoting workplaces Being at work is most important. We are committed to: ensuring good working conditions reinforcing the positive factors in the working environment developing a culture that embraces good leadership, a sense of belonging and coping skills Activating our employees 13

Our programme for health-promoting measures at the workplace “Healthy factors”: Clearly defined work requirements Influence on own decisions/control of work intensity – “coping” Opportunities to learn and develop skills Fair management and recognition Social support from manager and colleagues Balance between work and personal life Healthy lifestyle Conduct regular, structured workplace surveys and, based on the evaluation, develop plans to implement health-promoting measures. Encourage employees to eat a healthy diet, get physical exercise and stop smoking. 14

What should we do to ensure health-promoting workplaces? Conduct working environment surveys based on theories/models like Karasek-Theorell. Bear in mind that improving the psychosocial working environment helps prevent health problems. The EHS standard defines organisational change as a psychosocial risk factor that must be considered and evaluated Employee brainstorming and engagement are important. A specific action plan is essential for good results. Measures must be followed up in the Working Environment Committee. 15

Health-promoting workplaces mean a great deal Important factors for reducing sickness absence at Orkla are: Clear leadership Structured EHS work An internal occupational health service that supports companies’ health-promoting, preventive and rehabilitation work A Group-wide Inclusive Workplace agreement 16 We aim to care even more about our employees!
