Why is an Integrated Property Management System Important? Provides access to all relevant information regardless of its origin Minimizes data entry. For example: procurement interface can create asset records Comprehensive reporting Automatic transformation of external data into property management related information

Data Collection Plato: “Beginning is the most important part of the work” Recognition of all groups which will be impacted by integration Invite, discuss and determine the stakeholders and their interests in integration Request data elements required for integration Be prepared to provide data in return if requested by other entities

Initiate Integration Ensure the involvement and cooperation of all staff levels. i.e. field, technical and management staff members Understand each group’s business processes, relationships, staff skills, capabilities, receptiveness and availability Document data flows among several organizations

Integration Analysis & Implementation Fusion databases Interoperable databases Develop meta data, data dictionary and data model Document staffing and data management requirements

Visualization Visualization plays a vital role in turning raw data into insights because: –Simplifies data analysis process –Visual patterns are more interpretable –Visualization of processes helps communicate message to a broader audience in an organization

Visualization Convey your insights of data analysis by visuals and avoid jargon specific to one department Convey your message to upper management quickly, easily and in less time

Visualization Tools Fusion Charts, Maps, Widgets and Power Charts R - Revolution Computing Google Visualization and Charts Custom Flex charts by Adobe Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Tableau – Data Exploration BI Report Tools – Cognos, Business Objects

21 st Century Trends in Visualization Real Time streaming of Charts Supply Chain Analytics tools Interactive Charts Mobile supported Charts and Visuals Alerts and notifications Video and Audio Supported Visuals Links to Online resources like YouTube and Facebook etc.

Socialize Insights and Results Arrange one to one meetings with each component to explain the specific benefits of implementation for that component Integration should support both component goals and overall organizational goals Gain upper management support Identify “low hanging fruit” Implement a feedback mechanism

Socialize Insights and Results Show trend line for improvements to motivate the audience Website traffic, sales leads etc. Leverage support from social media Focus on strategy Monitor the effects of cultural change Choose the best time to share and socialize the results
