CARBOHYDRATES Carbohydrates – The Sugars and Starches found in food. 1.Simple Carbs – Forms of sugar that are easy for the body to process. These sugars are Fructose and Glucose (Found in fruits and veggies). Glucose – Form of sugar that goes directly into the blood stream & provides quick energy. Glycogen – When glucose is not used, it’s converted into glycogen and stored in the body.

CARBOHYDRATES 2. Complex Carbs – Difficult to break down & use by the body. Starches are an example of complex carbohydrates. Dietary Fiber - Comes from the non-digestive part of plants that helps remove waste.

FATS Lipids – The nutrient that contains the most concentrated form of energy. Lipids (Fat) is an essential nutrient. To function well, your body needs at least a small daily intake of fat.
