Houston Stormwater: Operations crew used paper maps and paper forms Paper maps are cumbersome to produce, expensive, and the updates are infrequent. Plus they are not dynamic. 2 Paper-based processes can be error prone, need back office data entry, may be lost, have storage costs, can cause compliance and audit issues, and have poor access. Internet based mapping applications are unreliable and fail to deliver when needed, especially in emergency situations. Plus cost of data plan can be outrageous. Lost productivity in searching assets and calling office staff to locate assets using GIMS

Houston Stormwater: The Productivity Gain  An operator using paper maps on average conducted an investigation in 45 minutes but with FieldMap the average investigation was reduced to 25 minutes.  Through the course of the 4 day work week (9.5 hour per day) the operator conducted 62 investigations per week with FieldMap as opposed to 35 investigations using other methods.  FieldMap almost doubled productivity in one week for an operator. 6
