Goals “The progress of students with basic skill deficiencies will be accelerated through a strategic streamlining of Adult, Developmental, and Career Education, accelerating student advancement into career training programs...” SCC “will coordinate Adult and Developmental Education curricula and adoption of assessment practices that are more precise, provide for more appropriate placements, and lead to increased student success” (TAA Technical Narrative) “If you want to change the world, throw a better party.” – Rick Ingrasci

College Profile 2-year institution 15 counties of southeast Nebraska 3 campuses: Lincoln, Milford, Beatrice 50 programs Grads: 90% find employment or continue education Lowest tuition and fees of all Nebraska colleges Residents: $55.25/hour, Non-Residents: $67.75/hour 12,242 students, 84% white, 3.7% Hispanic/Latino,.84% American Indian, 2.79% Asian, and 4.29% African American 75.6% of SCC students work: 45.3% working half-time or more

Adult Education Federally-funded grant 167 volunteers served 4,556 hours in 12 different locations in Lincoln in GED®, ESL, and Pre-foundations classes approximately 2,000 students per year Locations: SCC, Energy Square, Center for People in Need, Good Neighbor Center, F Street Rec Center, the HUB, Saratoga Elementary, Workforce Development 1 full-time Adult education teacher, 12 part-time GED®, reading, and pre-foundations teachers, 26 ESL/Family Literacy teachers, 5 Instructor assistants TABE -- state-sanctioned assessment I-Pathways and USALearns state-sanctioned distance learning programs Partner with LPS with a Toyota grant for Family Literacy in 6 different elementary schools Partner with Lincoln Corrections, Cedars, Community Action
